My local daughters and grandchildren went to the annual quilt show at the Springville Art Museum—this is a close-up of the best of show, Lilies of the Field. The colors, fabrics, design, and quilting with gold thread were tasteful and exquisite.

Darling Maya turned 1 today (I put the appliqué on her onesie).

Lora showed me a picture of a dress and asked if I could make one like that for Maya—so I did.

Maya did not care for the ribbon placed on her hair at her birthday party. Lora thinks it’s pretty funny.

I knew this stair intimately in its pristine condition, as it belonged to the original portion of the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University (originally called the J. Reuben Clark Library when it was opened in 1961). Now after almost fifty years of nearly daily use (and an addition to the south in 1976 and an addition to the north in 2000), the marble stairs (particularly going from the main—or third—level up to the fourth level have become softly worn.

This shadow reflection shows up on our hallway each morning at work.
That quilt is amazing- and your sewing projects for Maya are darling. I think this "photo a day" idea is a very manageable way to do a blog. What a great idea! If only I were as diligent about taking pictures as you are... maybe I will be inspired by our new camera. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know of your blog...it is GREAT. I enjoyed the various details of your life...seeing the pictures that go with the events you have shared while we walked early morning on the streets of Cherokee & Apache Lane. I love the dress you made for cute Maya! And I really love your new painting. I bet it is even more beautiful and captivating in person...I will have to stop by & check it out! (Verla...not Becca...I have to get someone to help me correct the ownership.)
