David and Michael are celebrating that they were able to get last-minute tickets to fly to India from Houston.

14 January

After Houston, we had a layover in Doha, Qatar. If you want to know what A&W looks like in Arabic, here it is! But I’m sure you don’t want to know how much it cost to buy a drink here.

15 January

What a small world it is when it comes to the church—halfway around the world in New Delhi, India, we meet up with our friend Devn, whom we had recently seen at his home in Atlanta.

17 January

Stephen and I have made it to the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra, India, so we can now cross that off our bucket list! The workmanship and detail is incredible, with inlaid precious stones and carving in the hard marble. This mausoleum built by Shah Jahan in honor of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child, was made to endure.

18 January

These school girls were on a field trip at the palace-fort in Orchha in the Bundelkhand region. The girls were delighted to have their picture taken and then wanted me to be in a picture as well.

19 January

The fine collection of tenth-century Hindu and Jain temples at Khajuraho (25 survive of the original 85) gives examples of the panchayatana temple type, in which a central structure is surrounded by four shrines.
